CAMPBELL COUNTY, WY

AREA INFO

Our leased ranches are located in Campbell County, Wyoming, about 36 miles north of Gillette. It sprawls across the northeastern corner of Wyoming, the perfect terrain for the Elk, Mule Deer, Whitetail and Antelope.   It is land consisting of rolling hills, sagebrush plains, fields of green and timbered backcountry, with the elevation varying from 3,500 to 5,000 feet.  The weather in Wyoming is extremely unpredictable, especially in September, October and November.  The temperature can range from 80 degrees to below zero within our hunting season; therefore, we recommend you check the forecast before your arrival in order to pack appropriately.

The general location of our ranches lies midway between two of our country’s most treasured sites: Mount Rushmore to the east and Yellowstone National Park to the west. While hunting in the great out west, take some extra time before or after your hunt to explore the area!

BLACK HILLS, WYOMING

They call them the Black Hills of South Dakota, but it’s something of a secret that the Black Hills extend into Wyoming, too. Although 90 percent of the Black Hills are in South Dakota, the timbered mountains of the Black Hills National Forest do continue 10 to 40 miles beyond the South Dakota border, west into Wyoming.

And even though they are across the state line, the towns of Hulett, Moorcroft, Newcastle and Sundance are very much a part of the Black Hills “community.”

DEVILS TOWER

Our county’s first national monument remains one of its most spectacular. Looming as large as the legends of the West, Devils Tower is as rich in history and geology as it perspective. A full day (or two or three) of hiking, sight-seeing, photography and even climbing is just an hour’s drive from Gillette.  Click Here for more info:  https://www.nps.gov/deto/index.htm

MOUNT RUSHMORE

Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a large-scale mountain sculpture by artist Gutzon Borglum. The figures of America's most prominent U.S. presidents--George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt—represent 150 years of American history.

The Memorial is located near Keystone in the Black Hills of South Dakota, roughly 30 miles from Rapid City.
